Do I have a sleep disorder? Self-test to find out

By remdy On June 20, 2009 Under Natural Sleep Remedy

If you think you might have a sleep disorder, give this self-test a go and find out. At the end of the test, I will reveal your score.

Yes No Description
I cannot fall easily sleep
I wake up more than once during the night
If I wake up during the night, I have troubles falling back asleep
I am terrified when I wake up in the night, but I don’t know why
I fall asleep suddenly during the day if I get excited
I snore loudly and stop breathing at times
I hurt my partner or myself during sleep
I tend to move a lot during sleep
I’m too nervious, anxious, worried to fall easily asleep
I only fall asleep very late or wake up too early
I talk/walk during my sleep

So how do you determine your score? Well, if you answered with Yes to more than 1 question, you probably have a sleep disorder. Your lack of sleep, or insomnia might be born out of something more serious.

“Serious’ doesn’t mean that your life is over or anything like that ) What it means is that you need to address it, as it’s not a ‘normal’ way of being, even if you are already used to the situation.

You can first try out the tips and help given in the book Coping with Lack of Sleep - Causes and Remedies, which gives you sound advice on what to do on most of these issues. Most of the times you can get rid of these by following tried and tested advice.

There are cases though when really nothing works. Your best bet in that case is definitely a professional practitioner, who will give you proper treatment and medication for aleviating your condition.
